About me: I am a hypnotherapist and life coach with a practice in Harley Street, London, . I specialise in depression and anxiety issues, and am often asked to share my expertise in these areas. I am the author of LIVING WITH THE BLACK DOG – how to cope when your partner is depressed, LIVING WITH DEPRESSION (2ND edition of the above), and HOW NOT TO WORRY – how to stop anxiety spoiling your life.

My work has spanned areas as diverse as theatre, television, education and the criminal justice system, and I spent years running groups and therapy sessions with a range of clients, before becoming a hypnotherapist five years ago. In all, I have over 20 years experience of helping people to move forward in their lives. I have both personal and professional experience of anxiety, and understand how it can blight your life.

Brief Synopsis: Research shows that depression and/or anxiety touches the lives of more than 1 in 6 people, either directly as sufferers, or indirectly as family members and friends. Yet many people know little about depression, or anxiety and its various permutations. Most know even less about how they can help themselves to feel better. The symptoms are really scary. For example, an individual might feel that they are sinking into a bottomless pit, or think that they are physically ill, or that they are going ‘mad’.

Well - it doesn’t have to be like this! It’s time to shake things up. Knowledge is power, and this positive and informative programme puts a whole new slant on depression and anxiety. There’s loads of useful information and a wealth of practical strategies that a person can use to help themselves. And there are tips to help friends and family to cope too. This programme is upbeat, entertaining, and full of common sense. Whilst practicing some of the strategies shown here, one person said: “I didn’t know depression could be such fun!” Another said: “I feel it’s ok to talk about how I feel now.”
