Tony Horne is a well established and highly regarded radio presenter and writer. 'The Tony Horne In the Morning Show' is best known for being what is believed to be the longest running continuous breakfast show in commercial radio in England. Currently airing on Metro Radio, Tony has been delivering killer audiences across the Northwest and Northeast since 1992, and is currently one of the few commercial radio shows beating Terry Wogan in the ratings.
Notable achievements include the global coverage of his wind-up call to Sven Goran Erikson in 2001 just days before he took the England job, career sales of 25,000 cds locally, and awareness in the Northeast that research suggests is close to 90 %
Tony has a degree in French and Italian from Exeter University, is a weekly newspaper columnist and his first book Hornes Down Under Part One is out now to rave reviews, and is published by Matador.
He also runs his own company Horney Media through which he consults on breakfast radio, speech-writing and TV formats.
Tony has been used many times for soundbites on television. Areas of expertise include travel, broadcasting (free speech and Ofcom), publishing, the Northeast of England (Alan Shearer and Chris Ryan amongst his friends) and the Great North Run. He splits his time between Manchester and Newcastle-upon Tyne and has home studio for audio use.
