1972 MGB GT - Blue
The MGB GT is a true British classic, built in Abington between 1965 and 1980. This GT was built in 1972. The car features teal blue paintwork, chrome bumpers, a blue leather/vinyl interior, rear seat-belts, a wooden Moto-Lita steering wheel, functioning fog lights and a functioning overdrive. The paintwork is recent and the car has a good shine to it.
History of the Car
Much of the recent work on the vehicle has been done at NBA Sports on the Dunsfold Aerodrome. The garage regularly works on Top Gear’s cars, including the Reasonably Priced Cars. The car was recently given up-rated brakes with Kevlar pads (2009), K&N pancake oil filters, a Ken Lowe radiator and oil radiator, new clutch, new rear suspension fittings and new rear drums. The Falken tyres were fitted in 2009. It has spent most of its life in Surrey and Berkshire in the hands of a succession of careful owners. This MG is tax exempt, having been manufactured the year before road tax was established. It was originally red and repainted in the 90s. The car was also fitted with a new engine and engine mounts in 1996. The engine is an original MG-spec block, producing 1280cc – and the same noise as an original Leyland engine. It has been with its current owner since March 2011.
Owner works part-time as a production assistant and has experience of a number of location shoots. Also has a ‘Health and Safety in a Production Company’ qualification.
This car is located in Bristol and available in West Country and London. Kept in full taxed and tested running order and ready to hire with short notice.
